K/1 Art- Week 5- Pigasso and Mootisse

K/1 Art
Pigasso and Mootisse
with Ms. Pattinger

Let’s have some fun with art and literature!

Please click on the link below and listen to the story based on two artists Picasso and Matisse.

After watching the story, compare the two artists and their styles. Which artist creates realistic portraits and which does not?

Picasso is a cubist, he likes straight lines and geometric shapes.
Matisse is a fauve, he likes color and organic shapes.

Compare and contrast the two styles and decide which style you like best. Then they draw either a portrait of Mootisse or Pigasso.

Whoever you choose, draw that character using that artists' style.

You can use crayons, markers or oil pastels to draw with. After drawing them you can paint them if you have paint at home.
