Picasso created the Bouquet of Peace in July 1958.
This painting is made up of four large flowers and three smaller ones. Picasso used oval shapes for the center of the big flowers.
Picasso doesn’t try to make the flowers look real. He used bright colors that stand out from far away. He used a combination of primary and secondary colors make this painting.

As an older man, Picasso created a lot of art for peace and did other paintings such as the Dove of Peace.

He also joined the Peace Movement, his Dove of Peace became the symbol for the group. Picasso believed in promoting harmony among all people, which is what the two hands holding the flowers symbolize.
The hands in this painting are of two different people, they are both right hands.
One person may be passing it to the other or two people may just be holding the bouquet together.

The painting Hands with Flowers represent sharing, love and friendship. Did you know that flowers are scientifically proven to make people feel happy?

If you could pick a beautiful bouquet of flowers who would you hand them to?

Have fun and be creative!
