Grade 4 - Week 4 - Op Art

OP Art Weavings with Ms. Kampson Art Supplies: 2 pieces of different color construction paper (you can use magazine pages or color computer paper if you do not have construction paper) Pencil & Ruler Scissors Glue Stick Vocabulary: Op Art: art that gives the illusion of movement by the use of line, pattern, and color. Weaving: the process of crossing one group of threads (the weft) with a second group of threads (the warp) to make cloth or a decorative artwork. Loom: a frame on which a weaving is made. Weekly Art Challenge – All Grades- Week 4 Hello Artists! How are you today? This week’s challenge is Animal Mashups. Materials: at least 2 pieces of White Drawing Paper (computer paper is fine) Pencil and Eraser Sharpie or Black Pen Coloring Supplies (crayons/markers/color pencils) Step 1: Get inspired. Look at these animal mashups to get your imagination going.   Step 2: Sketch. Choose 2 animals to mashup. On a blank piece of paper practice combining the key features of both animals into a new animal. Sketch your new animal multiple ways. For example, if you choose a cat and a fish try sketching the cat’s head and fish tail. Then do another sketch of a fish head with cat paws and tail. Step 3: Draw your new animal. On a new piece of drawing paper lightly draw your new animal in pencil. Step 3: Draw the background/environment. Think about what kind of environment your animal would live in. If it has scales...

    Chalk Illustrations   with Ms. Favara Ms. Favara’s Supplies:   Sidewalk Chalk *Any supplies you have available to you at home are fine. If you don’t have sidewalk chalk you can use images from magazines and/or draw your background on paper with crayon and cut out a photo of yourself to add to the image.   Key Vocabulary Background:  the place or surroundings where a story or adventure takes place. Illustration:   a picture that tells a story.  Instructions:  Choose your favorite part of your favorite book or movie and add yourself into the adventure. Create a background using chalk outside and have someone take a picture of you in your scene.  I recommend you sketch out your idea first on a piece of paper. If you don' t have sidewalk chalk, just draw a picture of your favorite story and cut an old photo of you to add yourself into the picture. Or you can just draw yourself into...

Let's create some artwork to assist our natural environment. I will list two different designs for bird feeders here in the event you may not have the supplies.  Some supplies you will need:  Toilet paper or paper towel tube Sun or Nut Butter Popsicle sticks ( spoon or butter knife with assistance works fine)  Seeds String Step 1 - Spread on your nut or sunflower butter. Kindergarten Art-   Mindful Heart Art Ms. Pattinger Time to fill your heart with art!   This week we are going to continue with another mindful art project because it’s important that we connect within and with each other. You will need: Paper- 8 ½ x 11 or larger. Any color you choose   Pictures and/or stickers Markers and/or crayons Scissors   Glue or tape Draw or cut a heart on your piece of paper. You may color this heart if you choose. If you are using colored paper you can chose to add more color if you like. Think about your color choices. Maybe you want to use all warm colors? Cool colors? Warm colors are red, yellow and orange. Pink is also a warm color because it comes from red. Cool colors are blue, green and violet. Now it’s time to create the collage . The word collage comes from the French verb "coller", meaning to glue. It is the artistic process of gluing and assembling various materials to a flat surface.    Fil...
